Amazon is Now In Belgium

Discover the best of Belgium. Shop from a vast selection of more than 180 million products across more than 30 categories and discover new, emerging, and established local brands in the Brands of Belgium store.

With amazon.com.be going live on the 18th of October, 2022, the great platform is now available in Belgium, offering over 180 different products falling into 30 popular categories. It is the 10th active marketplace of Amazon in Europe and making it a total of twenty-one countries from across the globe.

This launch of the Amazon marketplace in Belgium is followed by the popular launches in Poland and Sweden in the years 2021 and 2020, respectively. Like the previous ones, this launch in Belgium also comprises existing sellers from popular European marketplaces. These mainly include sellers from Germany, China, the U.K., Spain, France, Italy, and Germany.

Amazon’s Belgian site is a great way to find unique products, but it’s also an excellent place to get your hands on some local brands.

“It is just the start of our journey in Belgium and we are dedicated to delivering the best experience we can for our customers and local Selling Partners.”

Brands Of Belgium – The Show Breaker For Belgian SMEs

However, Amazon has launched a dedicated section called “Brands of Belgium that includes around a hundred local brands from Belgium. The current share of the local brands in overall Amazon sales is pretty low, but there’s definitely hope for a rise, and that’s exactly why Amazon is increasingly launching into the smaller European marketplaces over time.

The lack of proper sales for the local brands is mainly because of the proper infrastructure and systems for the entire processing at small markets. But the continuous interest of Amazon in these markets showcases the right intent behind it.

Conclusion

As Amazon has been expanding its presence in Europe, the company has also been working hard to establish a foothold in the local marketplaces. In fact, the company is expected to launch next to the smaller European states such as Ireland, Austria, Norway, and so on.

While these launches are not disruptive because people in these areas have always been using the platform, it surely is a sign of disruption for the local marketplaces. Amazon can definitely let the local brands earn great market shares over the period.
